Anchoring inclusive-digital education in school concepts at vocational schools – results of a systematic document analysis

Abstract

Inclusive-digital education aims to synergistically combine inclusion and digital technologies in a joint approach to enable education for all and thus participation. The European Agency (2022) recommends Universal Design for Learning (UDL) as a framework model. The extent to which inclusive-digital education is anchored in school concepts and the role played by UDL in this context is unknown.  Against this background, this article analyzes school concepts of vocational schools (N=21) with regard to the anchoring of inclusive-digital education. The results show that inclusive-digital education is currently not very anchored in school concepts, but that there are links to UDL and a high degree of connectivity in vocational education.
