Abstract

This article shows how individual language stays of students of grammar schools in the German-speaking part of Switzerland may be described and evaluated by means of an action theory and a competency model. It also presents the outcomes of language stays and highlights limits of and requirements for the assessment of the stays, as well as of students‘ exchange in general.
